The One Thing A Spartan Does Not Lose Is His P.R.I.D.E.

Purpose – Respect – Integrity – Drive – Excellence

TO PLAY HERE

COMMIT TO WORK HARD – Accept it. Develop good habits in practice and in the classroom. Make it a Habit. Do not settle for being and performing average.

COMMIT TO A HIGHER LEVEL OF THINKING – Understand the game. Study, think quickly on your feet, make good decisions, and outsmart the opponent. Have poise under pressure.

PUT TEAM BEFORE YOURSELF – Give to other people. Selfish teams self-destruct; understand you need each other. Do your part. It takes the efforts of many to make impossible feats possible.

HAVE A WINNING ATTITUDE – Believe in yourself. Do not let the fear of failure hold you back. Play with confidence gain through preparation. Avoid dwelling on mistakes; learn from them. Talk Positive.

TO STAY HERE

BE RESPONSIBLE – Get a diploma! Go to class, be on time, meet with tutors, be at all workouts, practices, and team functions, plan ahead, and talk to your teachers. Mature people are responsible people. Be responsible for your game. To be successful you must immerse yourself 100% into your goals and the team’s goals.

BE RESPECTFUL – To your teammates and staff. Moody people are rude and disrespectful. Your actions are a reflection on all of us. Treat people the way you want to be treated.

BE HONEST – Can we trust you? Can your teammates trust you? Always tell the truth. Do know right from wrong. Do the right thing.

BE LOYAL – Never talk about your teammates or coaches behind their backs; backstabbing will kill us. Keep team problems within the team. Be willing to confront issues.

TO BE SUCCESSFUL HERE

BE COACHABLE AND COMMUNICATE – Accept critical feedback; don’t take it personally. Commit to the philosophy. Follow instructions. Execute the game plan. Communication takes two people. Learn to separate the identity of person/student/athlete.

BE GREAT LEADERS, EAGER FOLLOWERS, AND ROLE PLAYERS – Lead by example at all times. Do what is best for the team, give to other people, you must give in order to receive, respect and respond to your leaders…everyone will have a role – accept your role. What are you doing today that will take us one step closer to our goals?

BE MENTALLY TOUGH AND CONSISTENTLY MOTIVATED – Be a good practice and game player. Keep focused and mentally prepare to handle anything that comes your way.
