RULE 3: [Character]
“Moments don’t define you, you define the moments you encounter. Know that every situation, goal, dream, ambition, and aspiration does not come with a pre-determined value. It is YOUR obligation to put value into the things you desire, into the things you care for, love, and have a passion for. Its is a choice. A choice that others cannot make for you; a choice you can only take. You cannot always control the circumstances, but what you can control is the CHOICES YOU MAKE. In soccer, just like in life, wins and loses don’t teach poor or exceptional CHARACTER, they simply reveal it.”
KNOWING RIGHT FROM WRONG: DO THE RIGHT THING
Following the ‘Successful vs Unsuccessful’ and Spartan Code of Conduct
In soccer: doing the right thing means that you play with class. Play aggressive but not dirty - Respect officials and coaches’ decisions - Obey the rules - Watch your language and behavior - Be a gracious winner and loser
In the class room: doing the right thing takes into account all the things that bring staying on top of your academics
In your social life and the community: doing the right thing means that you make exemplary decisions for all those you represent: (yourself, family, school, the program).
During The GOOD Times – Keep Perspective – don’t get carried away, and keep a level head. Don’t lose sight of things and look arrogant.
During The BAD Times - Display exemplary character – tough times will reveal the real you. Will you see your commitments through or throw the towel? Hard days are the best because that is when champions are made.
